CARRIE MARILL

What a wonderful thing to stumble upon on a gray and dreary morning. I can't tell you how badly I'd like a print of that 2nd one, which I can't find credits for.

Mmmm, need it.

SIDEWALK FINDINGS:
MARKET STREET EDITION

{touché...}

I'm not so in love with the treatment of ETIQUETTE, but I do find the part on the left quite endearing. By the way, there are lots of other "findings" that I've found on Market Street. But that would have to be expanded upon at another time...on an entirely different type of blog...

AHHH!!

Not sure if I'm going to be able to make this tonight, but I'm feeling like I sort of NEED TO. A one-night pop-up shop of vintage, mid-century modernist pieces. Attention, Oakland! You must go! And maybe pick up a chair or two for me?? ;)

BEAM ME UP

I love this! Dubbed the "Small House in
Nakanohigashi" and designed by the Small House Design Lab, this structure is nothing short of HEAVENLY. With little tricks such as the long rows of hanging bulbs and horizontal windows, the architects created a sense of continuity that makes the space seem much larger than it actually is. Raw chipboard was used for the stairs, and the accent colors keep it feeling light and airy.

CALIFORNIA LOVE

Alright, alright.

It has been a SUPER long time since my last post, but I have good reason. I swear.

I have relocated to the SF Bay area (Oakland, specifically....which I'm quickly learning is not, in fact, one and the same as San Francisco proper. But I love it anyway.) I've always loved this place, and figured there's no time like the present to try my hand at actually LIVING here. So, here I am. Live and direct from California!

There's art and creativity abound, as I discovered on my way to a hair appointment yesterday. I stumbled upon this collection of street art at the corner of Haight and Laguna. Bunnies, skulls and koi. What a warm welcome, SF!
